Lloydminster's Francophone School Moving Locations

Lloydminster’s École Sans Frontières will be moving to a new school site for the 2012-2013 school year.

The Conseil des écoles Fransaskoises ( Saskatchewan Francophone School Board) is in the process of finalizing a lease agreement on the former Slim Thorpe facility in Lloydminster.

Over the summer months, minor renovations will be taking place to ensure the new facility is ready to receive Pre-Kindergarten to Grade 12 students on the first day of the new school year, September 4th.

For the past two years, École Sans Frontières has been located in the old ScotiaBank building in downtown Lloydminster. Principal Paul Thériault says an exponential increase in enrolment has made this facility no longer feasible. With a projected student enrolment of between sixty-five and seventy for the next school year, there was an urgent need for a new school facility.

The former Slim Thorpe has the potential to accommodate between 150 to 200 students in 10 classrooms and will have an adequate school yard, something which the old site did not have.
