Tornado Watch East of Lloydminster

Environment Canada has issued a tornado watch for the Battlefords, Unity, Maidstone and St. Walburg.

Funnel clouds approaching the ground have been reported in thunderstorms near Unity and Lloydminster Tuesday afternoon. Pea-sized hail has also been reported with some of these thunderstorms.

According to Environment Canada, these types of funnel clouds normally don’t have the energy to reach the ground but they can be destructive over a very small area if they do. Funnel clouds can appear with little or no warning. If one does appear, take shelter until it dissipates. 

Environment Canada is warning of possible weak funnel clouds in southwestern areas of Saskatchewan for the afternoon.
