Meteor Streaks Across the Midwest

February 22, 2012

If you were looking up Tuesday night you may have been one of many who spotted a meteor shooting across the sky. Reports are coming in from as far away as Calgary of a bright flash streaking across the sky around 8:45 pm. One man who lives about 11-kilometres northeast of Lloydminster says he was standing in front of his window when a bright light lit up his yard. A professor in the department of geoscience at the University of Calgary named Alan Hildebrand has confirmed the flash was a meteor. He says it likely landed in the North Battleford area.
