Meadow Lake Man Faces Several ChargesFebruary 21, 2012MeadowLake RCMP have charged a 52-year-old man with a number of offences following a 911 call on Saturday night. Around 7:10 pm, Police received a 911 call from a man saying there was someone dead in his house in the rural area of Meadow Lake. Police say the called then stated that the victim was not dead, but he was going to get a gun and shoot the victim. The call was then abandoned. Officers were immediately dispatched to the scene where they a woman, who had fled the residence and found safety in a guest house in the same yard site. During the next two hours, the Mounties set up a perimeter and secured the scene, continually making contact with the subject. Around three hours later the suspect exited the residence and was arrested without incident. Edward James Shears has been charged with two counts of Uttering Threats, assault, Careless Storage of a Firearm, count of Possession of a Restricted Firearm, and Resisting Arrest. |
