Air Management Association Coming to LloydminsterFebruary 17, 2012A non-profit Air Management Association has been set up in the Lloydminster area, and will be monitoring air quality between the Border City and Saskatoon. The association is made up of the Saskatchewan Ministry of Environment and Stakeholders from industry, environmental groups, municipalities and the general public. Air Policy Architect with the Ministry of Energy Murray Hilderman says local industry officials are showing great support for the initiative so far. He credits the industry for wanting to know this kind of information to help them make decisions for future growth. Hilderman says the monitoring will also provide the Saskatchewan Environmental Association with information as well, so better decisions can be made on what kind of lobbying needs to be done to protect species at risk or endangered eco-systems. Information will also be given to members of the public who may have any air quality concerns. Monitoring is expected get underway soon. |
