The Time Has Come For New Pants

I've been really looking forward to this. Probably more than a guy really should.

This weekend, I'm going out to buy new pants. I've even figured out what I'm going to do with the old ones!

Wear them with pride my friend.

Not only have I dropped about 30 pounds since I started working with Jenna and the crew at Motion Fitness, but I've also seen a fairly significant shrink in my waistline. My pants started to sag a little after the first couple of weeks, but it was no big deal. Then, a couple weeks later, they started to fall right off! A problem easily solved though with a sharp tool. Just punch a new hole in my belt, and it's all good. Until a couple weeks later, and now I'm punching another new hole. My belt is starting to look like a minefield, random holes all over the place.

See, the issue is, while I was losing a lot of weight, I also knew that there was still more to come. Jenna and I have a plan for this weight loss challenge, and we're only about halfway there. And since I knew that there was still more weight to come off, I didn't want to buy new pants, because A: Pants are expensive in those larger sizes, and B: I was just going to have to do it all again if I kept losing weight along with the plan. So, instead of new pants, I settled for a new belt. I look like an extra from one of those Step Up movies, with the baggy pants clinging to my waist, but I wasn't breaking the bank trying to keep up with my gut.

The new belt did the trick for awhile, but here we are, 1 week short of 3 months since we started this whole thing, and even the new belt is now too big. My pant legs are getting chewed up under my shoes, because I can't keep them up at a proper height. As convenient as it is at night to just undo my belt and watch my pants sail to the ground, it's time to make a change. And the best part is, with the inches coming down, I can actually look for pants at stores that don't include the words "Big" or "Tall" in the name! That brings the cost down, and makes it a lot easier to find clothes locally.

So this weekend, I'm celebrating 3 months of healthy living, and my continuing escape from the 3 Bills Club, by buying some new pants. And I'm already looking forward to the next milestone where I get to do this all over again. Like I said my friends, we're not done here. Not by a long shot.

Speaking of Motion Fitness, they're having their Grand Opening this weekend! You can come see the gym for yourself, talk to the trainers, check out some of the classes, and be part of the giant outdoor Zumba party! I'll be down there from 11AM to 3PM on Friday, and I might even get out there and bust a fitness related groove, so I hope to see a bunch of you down there. It's also a really cool fundraiser to help build a playground for a local school, selling BBQ food, and Clean Eating Cookbooks, designed by Jenna herself. Now you too can eat Doorstop Pancakes! Seriously though, there's some really cool healthy food ideas in there, and it's all for charity. For more info, click over to https://www.facebook.com/events/224667457659685/
